Collin Gosselin Accuses Mom Kate Gosselin of Creating “Barrier” Between Him and Siblings

According to Collin Gosselin, it has been seven years since he and some of his siblings have spoken.
The 19-year-old claims that other than his sister Hannah, he has not had contact with his other six siblings since 2016—and places the blame for that on his mother, Kate Gosselin.
The family of 10 was the subject of TLC's Jon & Kate Plus 8 from 2007 to 2017, but Kate and husband Jon Gosselin divorced in 2009. Jon recently said Hannah and Collin are the only children he's in touch with and that he's been estranged from their eldest kids Mady and Cara for nine years. Jon was absent from their college graduations earlier this year.
"I think my mom kind of drove a social barrier between us," Collin said in the "Jon & Kate: Family Circus" episode of Vice TV's Dark Side of the 2000s, per Page Six. "She told them the story one way, and, obviously, I see the story a different way."
Jon has had sole custody of his son since 2018, after Collin left the out-of-home institution he'd been enrolled in by his mother in 2016. Kate told People at the time that her reasoning for having done so was due to "educational and social challenges" exhibited by Collin that impacted their "entire family."
In the same episode of Dark Side of the 2000s, Collin argued that while he wasn't a "perfect child," his "misbehaving was no different than from my siblings."
His fellow sextuplet Hannah also spoke to Vice about Collin's alleged treatment in Kate's house. "He would be separated from us," she said. "Like, he would not get to come and play outside with us. He would eat dinner at different times than us. I don't think effort was made in the home to help him learn what behavior is acceptable and what behavior is not acceptable."
And while the former reality star admits being sent away didn't help his relationship with his mom, Collin also believes that filming the show took a toll on their relationship.
"I want to believe it was because of TV and what being in the public eye does to a family. I think it tore us apart," he told Entertainment Tonight in November. "It gave us less time to actually be together as a family, more time to be in the public eye."
E! News has reached out to reps for Jon and Kate for comment on Collin's interview but hasn't heard back.
Although the siblings may not have spoken in recent years, they did all attend the same high school graduation for the sextuplets in June. Both Jon and Kate attended the ceremony, however the estranged family members did not speak to each other.
"We saw each other, but there was a whole football field between us," Jon told People of the occasion. "I talked to Hannah and Collin before graduation to make sure that it was gonna be cordial."
