Hunter Schafer is opening up about calling it quits on a previous relationship during her appearance on "Call Her Daddy."
On Wednesday's episode of the hit podcast hosted by Alex Cooper, the "Euphoria" actress opened up about ex-boyfriend and co-star Dominic Fike. Even though, Schafer said, it makes her "nervous" to talk about their past publicly.
"It's one of the cleaner breakups I've had," she told Cooper about her first-ever monogamous relationship. "We both recognized that this is not working, and we can't do this. We gotta go our own separate ways."
Schafer added: "It was so, so hard because we really loved each other. He’s a really special person and I love his soul and everything."

Schafer, 25, and Fike, 28, went public with their relationship in February 2022 after the two starred as Jules and Elliot, respectively, on HBO's "Euphoria."

By July 2023, the two had split.
While the two split amicably, Schafer told Cooper she "fundamentally changed" as a person after finding out Fike had cheated during their time together.
"It's part of my truth, but that fundamentally changed me as a person. And it was this whole process of realizing that cheating has nothing to do with you at all," she said. "And it has everything to do with that person and whatever kind of pain they’re in or whatever they’re dealing with. It’s all of that, but it’s so hard."

"Call Her Daddy" isn't the first time Schafer has opened up about her personal life. In early April, the "Cuckoo" star confirmed her past romantic relationship with Spanish artist Rosalía.
In an interview published by GQ, Schafer confirmed that she and the "Motomami" singer dated for five months in 2019 before the two called it quits. The two stayed close friends and have since been photographed together out and about after dating for around five months during the fall and winter of 2019.
"I have really beautiful friendships with people that I was once romantically involved with," Schafer said, adding that Rosalía is "family no matter what."
Hunter Schafer calls Zendaya 'one of my best friends in the world'
Schafer also opened up about another relationship: her friendship with "one of my best friends in the world to this day" Zendaya.
The former "Shake It Up" star helped Schafer adjust to fame and "fell in love with each other as friends."
"Thankfully, she had had some experience with fame already. We were really close by the time we really fell in love with each other as friends in the first season," she said. "She was able to help me through all of that."
Hunter Schafer opens up about 'Euphoria' Season 3 without Angus Cloud
When asked by Cooper about Season 3 of the HBO series, Schafer answered: "The real tea is I have no (expletive) idea what's going on. You can ask literally all of the cast. The real tea is that a lot has happened."
"A lot has happened," she continued. "It's hard to talk about. We've had deaths."
Schafer became visibly emotional remembering the death of "Euphoria" co-star Angus Cloud, who died last year at age 25 from an accidental overdose. Cloud's death resulted from the "combined effects" of cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl and benzodiazepine, according to the Alameda County Coroner's office in California.

"Obviously, I’m still coming to terms with what’s happened," Schafer said. "Losing people that we really loved that were a part of this family."
"If we do go back, that’s gonna be tough," she added. "I think there’s a world in which we can channel that into making it a beautiful season 3 − if it is supposed to happen. I think that (expletive) really threw everyone for a loop."
